Cassopolis' Kenny Brown and Randy Hemminger have been named Leader Publications' Athletes of the Week for the week of Feb. 21-26.
Both have qualified for the Division 4 state finals which begin today at The Palace of Auburn Hills north of Detroit.
The state finals will continue through Saturday.
Brown and Hemminger both qualified for the state finals by placing in the top four at the regional meet held two weeks ago.
Brown and Hemminger are being joined by teammates Zach Deubner and Justin Tucker.
Each week, the athletic directors from Dowagiac, Cassopolis and Edwardsburg will nominate players for the Athlete of the Week.
In April, each senior Athlete of the Week winner from all three sports seasons will submit an application for the scholarship.
Leader Publications will then select a boys' and girls' Athlete of the Year from either Cassopolis, Dowagiac or Edwardsburg.
The two athletes will receive a scholarship for an as yet to be determined amount.
The winners will be named in May.
