Chief Tom Atkinson of the Dowagiac Police Department reports that on Tuesday, March 8, at approximately 8 p.m., his officers made seven drug-related arrests from the 100 block of Chestnut Street.
Officers responded to the area to investigate a report of illegal narcotics activity.
Officers made contact at a residence and seized illegal narcotics-related items and took seven individuals into custody.
Five of the suspects were arrested for misdemeanor offenses and two suspects were arrested for felony offenses. Two of the suspects were also arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants. The suspects were lodged at the Cass County Jail. The identities of the suspects involved is being withheld pending arraignment in the 4th District Court. The matter is being turned over to the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team for further investigation. Officers from the Dowagiac Police Department were assisted on scene by deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
