Buchanan looking to take the next step

The Buchanan Bucks will try and take another step toward returning to the Breslin Center tonight as it takes on White Pigeon in the opening round of the Class C Regional Basketball Tournament in Watervliet.
The Bucks (21-2) and White Pigeon (18-5) will play at 7 p.m. at Watervliet High School.
On Wednesday night, Kalamazoo Christian (18-4) will face Lawrence (20-2) in the other semifinals, also at 7 p.m.
The winners will advance to Friday night's championship game, set for 7 p.m.
Buchanan defeated Brandywine, Eau Claire and Bridgman by an average of 31 points in claiming its district title.
White Pigeon defeated Constantine, Centreville and Colon to win its district championship.
The Bucks defeated White Pigeon in the opening game of the season 59-56, however, the Chiefs were without guard Troy Niblock.
Class B
St. Joseph won its first district title since 1997 on Saturday night and will now face Parchment at the Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
