Purpose of the Cass County Democracy Club (CCDC), forming this weekend in Dowagiac, is to "promote the interests of working-class Americans, particularly labor, members of their military and their families, veterans, students, individuals with disabilities and seniors who have been and are being systematically disenfranchised economically and to promote the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party, good government and democracy."
The club will be hosting its first breakfast meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at Zeke's.
The program will begin at 11 a.m. with Edie and Jess Minks, founders of the South (Berrien) County Democratic Club, speaking on how individuals can make a difference in improving our government followed by group discussion.
Thereafter, meetings will take place monthly on the second Saturday of each month at Zeke's, following the same format: breakfast at 10 and a program beginning at 11.
