NILES - Each year, the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan recognizes players from all over Michigan on their performances.
This year, Niles High School has three girls named to the All-State Team and have been given the Girls' Top Shooter Award.
Players and teams were nominated by the coaches on their athletic achievement and what they have accomplished during the basketball season.
Brandie Radde, a junior at Niles, was chosen for the Class B Second Team All-State and ranked No. 10 on the Top Ten Individual three- point percentages list.
Sarah Dreher, also a junior, was accepted to the Class B Fourth Team All-State Team and Amber Peters, a senior, was an Honorable Mention in Class B.
Niles High School girl's basketball coach Jim Arnold was also selected as the Region 5 Class B Regional coach of the year and his team was No. 5 on the Top Five Three Point percentage shooting teams.
In order to be nominated for the Regional Coach of the Year, a coach has to be nominated by their fellow coaches. Arnold was selected by assistant coach Skip Miller, JV coach George Brawley and Freshmen coach Linda Dyszkiewicz.
This is not the first time Arnold has won an award for his coaching.
This is also not the first time members of his teams have been on these lists. Almost every year Niles has made the list, whether it has been girls named to All-State teams, Shooting awards, coaches awards, team awards and Honorable Mentions.
