Brandywine, Buchanan, Cassopolis, Dowagiac, Edwardsburg and Niles advanced a total of 29 wrestlers to the regional round of the Michigan High School Athletic Association wrestling tournament on Saturday.
Dowagiac led the way with seven grapplers advancing to the Division 3 regional tournament, while Buchanan and Cassopolis each advanced six on to regionals in Division 3 and Division 4 respectively.
Niles moved four wrestlers on to the next round in Division 2, while Brandywine advanced three wrestlers in Division 4.
Division 2
Niles' Jake Glueckert captured the 103-pound championship and gained a bit of revenge on Lakeshore's Brad Barker in the process at Vicksburg High School.
Glueckert decisioned Barker in overtime, 7-5, to win the title.
Also advancing for the Vikings were Mason Stephenson, who finished fourth at 125-pounds, Robert Cinninger, who finished second at 145-pounds and Josh Henry, who finished fourth at 189-pounds.
Stephenson lost to Ryan Lucas of Three Rivers in the 125-pound championship match, 7-0.
Division 3
Buchanan had a trio of district champions as Todd Taylor, Travis Reith and Ryan Carrigan all claimed championships.
Taylor won the 103-pound title with a 5-4 victory over South Haven's Adam Bastow.
Reith decisioned Danny Woldring of Hamilton, 9-4, to win the 125-pound championship.
Carrigan pinned Hopkins' Jacob Smith in 3:42 to win the 275-pound crown.
Finishing second for the Bucks was Nick Wheetley at 119-pounds.
Dowagiac had a trio of runner-up finishes on Saturday at Comstock.
Jereomy Northrop was pinned by Coloma's Jeremy Ashley (3:20) at 145-pounds, while Kyle Bennett dropped a 7-5 decision to Otsego's Mike Kronke at 171-pounds.
Shawn Rawson lost a heartbreaking 11-10 decision to Hamilton's Nate Maat in the 189-pound championship.
Finishing third on Saturday was Dowagiac's Richie Hutchinson at 119-pounds, Dowagiac's Jason Krukowski at 130-pounds and Buchanan's Jim Connors at 189-pounds.
Placing fourth were Dowagiac's Nathan Cottrell at 103-pounds, Edwardsburg's Andy Breslin at 125-pounds, Edwardsburg's Matt Peters at 130-pounds, Buchanan's David Medlin at 140-pounds, Dowagiac's Justin Desjardin at 152-pounds and Edwardsburg's Corey Parsons at 160-pounds.
Division 4
Cassopolis' Justin Tucker, John McCoy and Kenny Brown all captured championships on Saturday at Bangor High School.
Tucker decisioned Mike Stein of River Valley in the 135-pound title match, 6-5.
McCoy pinned Kyle Dornan of Bangor in the 140-pound championship match in 2:39, while Brown decisioned teammate Randy Hemminger to win the 145-pound crown, 18-2.
Finishing third on Saturday was Cassopolis' Josh Westphal at 171-pounds.
Taking fourth were Lance Taliaferro of Brandywine at 130-pounds, Joel Perry of Brandywine at 152-pounds and Adam Simons of Brandywine at 189-pounds.
