Juveniles arrested in home invasion

Dowagiac Police Chief Tom Atkinson reports that his officers arrested several juveniles in connection with a home invasion case reported Feb. 6.
City police took a report of a burglary to a residence in the 500 block of W. High Street that occurred sometime over the weekend of Feb. 4-6.
Taken during the burglary were several rifles, a knife and some home electronics equipment. Through the investigation, police identified two juvenile suspects from Dowagiac and recovered several of the rifles stolen, along with the knife. Police obtained juvenile pick-up orders for the two 15- year-olds.
One of the juveniles was taken into custody Feb. 10 and placed into the custody of the Cass County Probate Court.
Police are still searching for the second juvenile suspect.
During the investigation police also charged two other juveniles from Dowagiac, ages 13 and 14, for illegal entry and possession of stolen property from this burglary.
This incident remains under investigation and has been turned over to the Cass County Prosecutor's Office and the Cass County Probate Court.
