Rangers 3-on-3 basketball tournament March 19

CASSOPOLIS - Ross Beatty High School will sponsor the Cassopolis Rangers 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 19.
Cost per team is $60.
There is a great range of age brackets, starting with seven-year-olds playing on an eight-foot rim, and ending with an over 40 division.
All courts will have referees that will keep the game clean and fun for all participants.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each division. A traveling trophy will go to the winning elementary school and middle school.
There will also be a slam-dunk contest, both on an eight-foot rim and a 10-foot rim, as well as a three-point and free throw contest.
Entries are due by Monday, March 12. An entry form may be picked up at any of the Cassopolis school offices or by calling Rusty Stitt or Hiawatha Francisco at 445-0511.
Cass Little League registration
Cassopolis Little League will be holding a series of sign-ups for baseball, softball and tee-ball beginning on Saturday.
The first sign-up is set for Sam Adams Elementary School from 9 a.m. until noon.
The second sign-up period will be Thursday and Friday, Feb. 17 and Feb. 18 at Squires Elementary and Sam Adams during conference times.
The final sign-up will be Friday, Feb. 26 at the Rangers' home basketball game. Registration will take place from 5-9 p.m.

Cass Jr. High wrestling
The Cassopolis junior high wrestling team won 17 out of 20 matches against Berrien Springs on the road Monday.
Winning two matches for the Rangers were Thanly Noringhong and Kim Vaughn.
Also winning were Patrick Allen, Jeff Haines, Chris Coates, Joe Fortuna, Chris Ramsey, Kyle Haithcox, Corey Lowe, Cody Blad, Cody Hulett, Nick McKnight, Darby Kelly, Chris Davison and Scott Turnbow.
The team is coached by Glenn Williams and Ron Brown.
Soccer registration deadline nears
Final registration is taking place for the United States Soccer Federation beginners' referee course to be held at Lakeshore Middle School beginning Feb. 21 in Stevensville.
The course will be held on five consecutive Mondays from 6-9 p.m. The cost of the class is $50, which includes membership in USSF and the Southwest Michigan Soccer Referees' Association.

Rietveld signs letter of intent
Cassopolis high school baseball pitching standout Jason Rietveld has signed a letter of intent to attend South Suburban College, located in South Holland, Ill.
The community college has one of the strongest division I NJCAA baseball programs in the midwest.
