NILES - The community is invited to join the Niles Philadelphia Seventh-Day Adventist Church Saturday, at 11 a.m. to celebrate its Annual African Heritage Day in honor of Black History Month.
The Church is located at 1327 Broadway St., Niles. The theme for this special celebration is "Son, Don't Let Us Down" and Dr. Trevor O'Reggio, Pastor of the Niles Philadelphia Adventist Church and Professor of Church History at the Andrews University Seminary, will deliver the keynote address.
National statistics confirm that the most urgent need of many communities is for men, of all ages and ethnicity, to be present, accountable, and supportive of their homes and families. As a result, this year's program is focused on highlighting how, through the power of God, men can become stronger and more devoted sons, brothers, fathers and mentors.
To underscore the day's theme, several fathers will share readings and personal experience on the topic, "Eleven Power P's." Inspirational musical guests will be PSOG II, a local children's choir, Cynthia Warren and a newly-formed men's chorus.
Immediately after the program, the church will provide a luncheon prepared by Andrews University Chef, James Tramel.
The Niles Philadelphia Adventist Church is a religious organization dedicated to helping men and women discover the hope found in a personal relationship with a living and loving Savior.
