NILES - Frankie's is on the move.
Frankie's Barbeque Restaurant, which has called its current location at 1305 Fifth St. home for the past six years, is moving to a different home.
Frankie's will now be occupying a space on the lower level of the Four Flags Hotel, located at 404 E. Main St. when it officially opens for business on Monday, Feb. 7.
The restaurant, which has two other locations in South Bend, Ind., was started there 41 years ago, by the mother of Sean Trotter, who is the president of the company.
Trotter is Dawson's brother.
Along with the new location, there are a few changes to the restaurant. Frankie's will now offer the ability for their customers to dine in, whereas the old location was only carry out.
Frankie's is also now offering a kids' menu, which many of their customers had been asking for, Dawson said.
The menu has also expanded, he said.
Another highlight of the new Frankie's will be its Sunday buffet. On Sundays, Frankie's will offer an authentic Soul Food buffet, from 2 to 7 p.m.
They also now do catering and will deliver to downtown businesses only.
By moving to this location, Dawson hopes to attract more business and become part of the downtown community. Also the restaurant is here for its customers and would really like to give diners something different in terms of choices in the Niles area, Dawson said.
The restaurant will be open seven days a week. Hours will be Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 2 to 7 p.m. Frankie's will hold an official grand opening starting next weekend.
