Baseball and softball season is just around the corner, and preparation for the Dowagiac Little League's upcoming season is well under way.
Registration continues this Saturday at Union High School from 9 a.m. until noon in the cafeteria. Programs are available for all children ages 5-16.
Donations of used playing equipment are being collected at registration. Empty your closets and garages of the gear your kids have outgrown and put it into the hands of someone that can put it to use.
The League will be holding a rummage sale April 16-17. Families will be able to outfit their players with necessary equipment and clothing at bargain prices. After the sale, remaining goods will be forwarded to Little League Central Region Headquarters for distribution to Leagues in Poland or Latin America.
There will be a public meeting of the Dowagiac Little League Board of Directors on Monday, Feb. 7.
These public meetings are designed to provide public understanding, encourage open discussion, and solicit ideas for the development of the Board's agenda. Parents of League participants, managers of teams, and anyone interested in workings of Dowagiac Little League are encouraged to attend.
The informational meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in room 308 at DUHS.
