Troopers from the Michigan Police Niles Post are investigating a breaking and entering which occurred during the weekend at the Michiana Antique Mall, located at 2423 S. 11th St., Niles Township, in Berrien County.
An unknown male suspect entered the property under the cover of darkness, parking his vehicle so it could not be seen from the road.
The suspect proceeded to cut the phone lines, as well as dismantle the electrical box in attempts to bypass the buildings alarm system.
While tampering with the electrical box, the suspect grounded the system which may have caused burns to the subject's hands, eye, or face.
The electrical care carried 240 volts.
