Bobcats fall to River Valley on last-second shot

THREE OAKS - The Brandywine varsity basketball team dropped a 34-32 Lakeland Conference decision to host River Valley Tuesday night.
The Bobcats, 1-9 overall and 0-5 in the Lakeland Conference, lost when River Valley hit a shot from behind the backboard as time expired.
River Valley led 12-8 after one period of play and 19-13 at the intermission.
Brandywine rallied to take a 35-23 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
River Valley (2-8 overall) outscored the Bobcats 11-7 in the final period to claim the victory.
Mike Nagy and Matt Beaver both scored six points to lead Brandywine.
Alex Newman, who returned from an ankle injury, had six rebounds and three steals.
D.J. Elrod and Brett Shoemaker both finished with five points.
River Valley was led by Andrew White and Danny Baker, both of whom scored eight points.
