7th grade squads split with St. Joe Upton

The Central Middle School seventh grade basketball teams split a pair of games with St. Joe Upton Monday afternoon.
The Orange team dropped a 24-19 decision to St. Joe, while the Black team posted a 31-20 victory.
David Compton led the Orange team with seven points.
Dowagiac also got five points from Alex Miller and three points from Travis Herman. Scoring two points were Andrew Kurdelmeyer and Destin Payne.
Brandon Douglas led Dowagiac's Black team with seven points.
Cody Cox, Mark Westendorp and Damone Huff all scored six points, while Andrew Cripe added four points.
Derek Simpson finished with two points.
Dowagiac is now 6-3 heading into the final game of the season against Benton Harbor Fairplain on Thursday.
The seventh grade will travel to Benton Harbor, while the eighth grade will host Fairplain beginning at 4 p.m.
