Dowagiac wrestlers headed to Decatur

The Dowagiac wrestling team got the night off Wednesday thanks to Mother Nature.
The Chieftains match at Coloma was canceled due to weather conditions.
Dowagiac, ranked No. 9 in the latest coaches' poll, will now set its sights on the Chad Reeves Tournament in Decatur on Saturday.
The Chieftains will be competing against the likes of Mendon, Vicksburg, Cassopolis, Lakewood, Olivet, Lawton, Belding, Parchment and the host Raiders.
Wrestling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
Dowagiac will compete in Pool B along with Olivet, Lawton, Belding and Parchment.
The Raiders will be in Pool A along with Mendon, Vicksburg, Cassopolis and Lakewood.
The opening round of the tournament will have Dowagiac taking on Olivet and Lawton taking on Belding. Parchment receives a first round bye.
The second round, scheduled to begin at approximately 10:30 a.m., will have Dowagiac facing Parchment and Olivet facing Lawton. Belding receives the bye.
The third round will have Lawton sitting out while Dowagiac faces Belding and Olivet faces Parchment.
The third round is scheduled to begin at noon.
The fourth round finds Olivet sitting out while the Chieftains take on Lawton and Belding takes on Parchment. Olivet will sit out the fourth round which is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
The fifth round will have Dowagiac sitting on the sidelines while Belding faces Olivet and Lawton faces Parchment.
The fifth round will begin at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The finals are scheduled to begin approximately 5:30 p.m. All 10 places will be wrestled out at that time.
In Pool A, Decatur will face Mendon in the opening round, Lakewood in the second round, Vicksburg in the third round and Cassopolis in the fourth round. The Raiders will sit out the fifth round.
Cassopolis opens with Vicksburg and then sits out the second round. The Rangers will face Lakewood in the third round, Decatur in the fourth round and Mendon in the fifth round.
Admission is $4 for everyone. No league passes will be accepted.
Concessions will be available.
