CASSOPOLIS - Cass County officials have been following with interest several months of debate over the future of ambulance service in central and southern townships.
They seek service upgrades from basic to advanced life support (ALS).
Tuesday evening's meeting of the Cassopolis Area Ambulance Service Board failed to have enough members to reach a quorum.
Cassopolis Village Manager Art Sciorra said there may be "implied contracts" with Jefferson Township, who pulled out and looked to Edwardsburg for service, if "they can prove 35 years of ongoing relationship" with the Cass Ambulance Service.
What is in the best interest of the people we are here to serve?" he asked.
