Bucks go undefeated

Buchanan had six wrestlers go undefeated Saturday in winning the White Pigeon Team Tournament.
As a team, the Bucks went through the field unbeaten at 5-0. The victories increased Buchanan's varsity record to 12-1 this season.
Leading the way for the Bucks was Jim Connors at 189 pounds. Connors went 5-0 with five pins. Auston Ferris also went 5-0 and had four pins in his 160-pound weight class.
Jon Beechler at 119 pounds, David Medlin at 145 and A.J. Long at 160 all went 5-0 with two pins. Todd Taylor had one pin in going 5-0 in the 103 and 112-pound divisions.
In going undefeated, the Bucks beat Marcellus, White Pigeon, Lawrence, Climax-Scotts and White Pigeon's B team. Marcellus finished second at the invitational, going 4-1.
Host White Pigeon finished third with a record at 3-2, Lawrence placed fourth at 2-3, Climax-Scotts was fifth with a record of 1-4 and White Pigeon's B team was sixth at 0-5.
The Bucks are now on a holiday break. Buchanan is off until Jan. 5, when the Bucks travel to Cassopolis to face the Rangers.
After losing to Niles at the Niles Invitational Dec. 4, Buchanan has won eight consecutive matches and have gone almost a month without a loss.
