Dowagiac Police Chief Thomas Atkinson reports his officers investigated an armed robbery at the Speedway gas station, 650 Spruce St., this morning, Dec. 20, at approximately 12:45.
The clerk reported that the suspect entered the store and initially posed as a customer.
He then demanded money from the cash register drawer.
The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect then fled the store.
Dowagiac officers were assisted at the scene by deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office as well as a canine team from the Niles City Police Department.
