CASSOPOLIS - Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that deputies from his office are investigating a personal-injury accident that occurred at 9:18 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11.
The crash happened at the intersection of US-12 and Old M-205 in Mason Township, Edwardsburg.
A vehicle driven by John Divietro, 59, of Goshen, Ind., failed to yield at the intersection.
Divietro pulled out directly into the path of the second vehicle, driven by Dennis Shull, 55, of Jones.
After impact, the Shull vehicle rolled over onto its side.
Shull had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Porter Township Fire Department.Shull and Divietro were treated at the scene for minor injuries by the Porter Township Ambulance Service, but both drivers refused to be transported to the hospital.
Seat belts were used by both drivers.
Without the use of seat belts both drivers would have sustained serious, if not fatal, injuries, deputies said.
Alcohol was not a factor.
