The Cassopolis Rangers and Edwardsburg Eddies are looking to make the 2004-05 season a success.
The Rangers are coming off a 9-12 season, while the Eddies were 12-10 last season.
Edwardburg, which opened its season Tuesday night against Bloomingdale, returns three starters who helped the Eddies post their first winning season since 1991.
Those returners are Nick Roth, who averaged better than 10 points a game last season, Doug Shuttleworth and Zach Rooney.
Also listed on the Eddies' roster are seniors Rick Finley, Matt Horvath and Robbie Sevison. The remainder of the Edwardsburg roster is made up of juniors - David Daniels, Alex Antonio, Steve Gowen, Tony Hayes, Patt Hugget, Branden Muszynski and Ted Pietrzak.
The Eddies lack height as their tallest player stands just six-foot-four.
What Edwardsburg may lack in height they hope to be able to make up with quickness and depth.
Edwardsburg will also have to deal with a schedule that has it away from home for eight of nine games following the two home games to start the season.
The Eddies will host Constantine on Saturday before hitting the road.
Cassopolis also returns three starters, but will be looking to transfer Kevin Luckey from Kalamazoo Loy Norrix to add offense and defense to the Rangers' line up.
The returning starters are Ashton Danzy, Will Loux and Dan Stanage.
Loux and Stanage give Cassopolis size inside. Loux averaged better than five rebounds a game last year for the Rangers.
The remainder of the Rangers roster includes seniors Mike Evans, Renard MacNeal, Cordero Williams, and juniors Neal Bullocks, Rodney Lewis, John Young and Andre Broussard.
The Rangers opened their season Tuesday night at Bridgman. Cassopolis will also play Coloma on the road before returning home for a three-game stretch beginning Dec. 17 with Brandywine.
Cassopolis will not play its first non-conference game until Jan. 4, 2005 against Centreville.
