Buchanan found itself playing from behind Tuesday in its basketballseason-opener at White Pigeon.
Down 26-23 at halftime, the Bucks responded with a 19-14 third quarter that put them up for good in edging the Chiefs 59-56.
Gordon Bryant led the Bucks' attack, scoring a game-high 19 points. Tony Robinson added 14 for Buchanan.
Buchanan had to overcome White Pigeon's hot shooting from outside. The Chiefs nailed seven 3-pointers. They weren't so hot from the free throw line, however, connecting on 9-of-17 from the line.
Daniel Schuter and Simon Cholometes led White Pigeon with 15 points apiece.
