Heading into the fourth quarter Wednesday, Buchanan's girls' basketball team clung to a three-point lead over New Buffalo in a back-and-forth game.
The Bucks used a 17-10 fourth quarter advantage, however, to separate themselves for good and claim a 47-37 victory over the Bison in their final home game of the season.
Dee Dee Thompson scored a game-high 17 points for Buchanan. Sheena Bradshaw scored 13 points for the Bucks, including three 3-pointers. Buchanan got all its points from five players.
Buchanan held a two-point lead at halftime, 21-19, which it turned to a 30-27 advantage heading into the fourth period.
The victory moves the Bucks to 7-12 overall on the season and 6-7 in the Lakeland Conference. Buchanan plays its final regular season game tonight at Brandywine. The Bucks beat the Bobcats 46-28 at home in their first matchup of the season, Oct. 7.
