Brandywine lost at Lawrence Monday night in the Bobcats' final road game of the season. The loss drops the Bobcats to 5-13 overall.
The game was a non-conference contest, so the outcome didn't affect Brandywine's Lakeland Athletic Conference record, which remains 3-9, placing the Bobcats seventh in the league.
The Bobcats' junior varsity team fared better than the varisty squad. Brandywine's JV beat the Tigers 42-40.
The JV was led by Ashley Casey with 13 points and Brooke Allen with 10.
Brandywine now has two games left in its regular season before it goes into its district tournament. The Bobcats face River Valley at home Wednesday in a game that has been rescheduled twice, first moved from Sept. 16, then switched from Nov. 1.
They look to avenge a one-point loss to the Mustangs on the road Oct. 21.
Brandywine will then play Buchanan at home on Thursday in the Bobcats' regular-season finale. It will be the Bobcats' senior night.
Brandywine lost to the Bucks 46-28 on Oct. 7 in the first matchup between the two schools. In that game, Kalie Newman, Brandywine's leading scorer, was held scoreless and no Bobcat scored more than nine points.
The Bobcats begin district play Tuesday, Nov. 16. They face Eau Claire at host school River Valley. Because the district has five schools, both Brandywine and Eau Claire, as well as Bridgman, receive first-round byes.
Buchanan is also in Brandywine's district. The Bucks drew the host Mustangs in the first round. The winner of that contest faces Bridgman in the second round.
The winner of the two semifinal matchups will square of in the district championship game Friday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m.
