Brandywine received a first-round bye in its Class C district tournament. The Bobcats got the bye at the drawing Wednesday night at River Valley High School in Three Oaks, where the tournament will be held.
Because the district has five teams, three of the schools received a bye. The lone first round game is Buchanan versus host River Valley on Monday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
Brandywine faces Eau Claire in the second round, Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. The winner of the Buchanan-River Valley game moves on to play undefeated and sixth-ranked Bridgman on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.
The winners of the two second-round games will square off in the district finals, held at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19.
Buchanan's first round matchup with River Valley is one the Bucks have seen twice this season in Lakeland Athletic Conference play. Buchanan has beaten the Mustangs in both previous games.
The Bucks won by nine points on the road Oct. 12, and blew out River Valley 65-37 at home Sept. 7 in the third game of the season.
Brandywine has not faced Eau Claire this season.
Should Buchanan win and play Bridgman in the second round, it would face a Bees team that has beaten them easily this season.
Bridgman's two victories over the Bucks have come by an average of 32 points. The most recent win came Tuesday at Bridgman. The Bees won that contest 69-32.
