Rangers fall in district final

The Cassopolis soccer team took a giant step in their building of a program by reaching the Division 4 District Tournament finals on Friday in Marcellus.
The Rangers did not win, but just by reaching the finals showed that they are an up and coming program.
The host Wildcats posted a 3-0 victory over the Rangers on Friday afternoon to capture the district championship.
Cassopolis reached the finals with a 1-0 victory over Michigan Lutheran on Oct. 20. The Rangers won their opening round game against Howardsville Christian on Oct. 18, 2-1.
James Hershberger scored the lone goal against Michigan Lutheran with 53 seconds remaining in the first half to propel the Rangers to the victory.
He got an assist on the play from Tony Soukthavone.
Ivan Fedore posted the shutout on goal.
