Eddies, Rangers beaten again

The Cassopolis Rangers couldn't muster enough offense Friday night to get past visiting Coloma.
The Comets edged the Rangers, 7-6, to improve to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the Lakeland Conference.
The Rangers drop to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Both teams scored in the second quarter as defense was the name of the game Friday night.
Bryan Rogers gave Coloma a 6-0 lead on a one-yard run and Mike McCoy gave the Comets the victory with his extra point kick.
Ashton Danzy tossed a 27-yard touchdown pass to Paul Curtis for the Rangers' lone touchdown with only 20 seconds remaining in the first half.
The extra point kick failed.

BERRIEN SPRINGS - The host Shamrocks scored early and often against the Eddies Friday night.
The Eddies scored their only touchdown in the opening quarter on a 85-yard kickoff return by Derek Eden.
Steve Gowen kicked the extra point.
Berrien Springs (6-0, 4-0) scored 14 points in the first quarter and 21 points in the second quarter to take a 35-7 halftime lead.
The Shamrocks scored 14 points in the third quarter.
Both teams were scoreless in the final quarter.
Ryan Williamson scored six touchdowns, four via the rush and two via the pass.
Williams hauled in a pair of 2-yard touchdown passes from Shelby Week.
He scored on runs on 11-, 8-, 60- and 54-yards.
Ben Collard scored the other Shamrock touchdown on a 14-yard pass from Wood.
Brandon Hect was a perfect 7-of-7 on extra points.
Edwardsburg (2-4, 1-3) was held to 85 yards rushing and 71 yards passing.
The Eddies were 4-of-7 through the air with an interception and fumbled the ball away twice.
Berrien Springs rushed for 214 yards and threw for another 187 yards.
The Shamrocks were 13-of-17 through the air with an interception.

The Rangers and Eddies renew their cross-county rivalry on Friday night in Edwardsburg.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
