After a late start Thursday, Buchanan walked away with it second win in a row, a 46-28 victory over Brandywine at home.
The Bucks took an early lead in the first quarter and never allowed the Bobcats to get ahead. Both teams had two 3-pointers in the first alone. Buchanan had a 16-10 lead ending the quarter.
In the second, Brandywine's man-to-man defense proved to be a struggle for Buchanan. Brandywine caused Buchanan to play an outside passing game for more than a minute halfway through the second.
But getting open wasn't the only problem for the Bucks — making a basket was. They had a lot of trouble with their inside shots throughout the entire game.
Despite the trouble, Buchanan had a 24-16 lead heading into halftime.
Brandywine tried hard to take the lead in the third, but they were only able to come within two points of Buchanan. The Bucks used their half-court press midway through the third which gave Brandywine some problems.
The Bucks finally started hitting some inside shots in the fourth giving them the biggest lead of the night 37-24 with 5:55 left in the game. Brandywine wasn't able to get any closer and Buchanan walked away with a 46-28 victory.
Brandywines JV team earned a victory over the Bucks 53-41. Kari Konopka had 27 points for the Bobcats and Emily Ross had 17 for Buchanan.
