NILES - Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land will be in Niles Oct. 6, to present the new South Berrien County PLUS Office at 110 E. Main St., during a grand opening celebration from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
One of the first things people visiting the new Secretary of State PLUS office will notice is the larger lobby and just about everything in the office is new, even some of the employees.
The new employees come to the Niles branch from the recently closed Three Oaks branch, which was closed to consolidate employees to the new facility.
The South Berrien PLUS office opened its doors Monday at 9 a.m., after being closed for renovations on Sept. 13th.
During the two week renovations the entire office received a makeover. Crews knocked down a lobby wall, expanding the waiting and testing areas. The walls received a new paint job, as well as the office receiving new counters and carpet. Branch Supervisor Anna Martz said the renovations have really made a difference to the employees.
The South Berrien PLUS office is one of 22 new offices throughout Michigan created by Land.
The offices feature expanded hours and will constantly be adding new services to better serve citizens in the State of Michigan.
