Lady Eddies blanks Cass

CASSOPOLIS - The visiting Edwardsburg girls' varsity tennis team dropped just nine games in sweeping host Cassopolis Monday afternoon in a Lakeland Conference match, 8-0.
The Lady Eddies were nearly perfect in the singles matches as they dropped just three games against the Lady Rangers.
Things didn't got much better for Cassopolis in the doubles matches as Edwardsburg lost just six games.
Blanking the Lady Rangers for Edwardsburg were Jackie O'Connor at No. 1 singles, Stacey Miller at No. 4 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Alexa Smith and Amanda McCracken.

Buchanan ran its record to 7-0 in dual meets Wednesday by coasting to a 8-0 victory over visiting Cass.

While the Bucks won every match in straight sets, it was again Buchanan's doubles teams that put on particularly dominating performances.
In the four doubles flights, the Bucks dropped just one game and shut out the Rangers in all other sets. Buchanan only lost five games in the singles flights.
Ashley Shepherd at No. 1 doubles and Jaclyn Mummaw at No. 2 served up Buchanan's other two shut outs, each winning 6-0, 6-0. The two beat Cass' Sarah Kwast and Brittany Polmateer, respectively.
Chelsea Ghatoaura won at No. 3 singles, beating Cally Hass of Cass 6-1, 6-1. Olivia Bonardi followed at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Cass' Kelli Klimek.
Lizzy Thornton and Megan Vylonis at No. 1 doubles, Hannah Flood and Nicole Moyer at No. 2 doubles and Robyn Bahr and Leslie Niemier at No. 3 doubles all won 6-0, 6-0 for Buchanan.
At No. 3 doubles, Brittanee Smeltzer and Terra Linville won 6-0, 6-1 for the Bucks.
