Dowagiac fourth in West Division golf standings

The Dowagiac varsity golf team finished fourth in the Big 16 Conference West Division following Monday's final jamboree at The Oaks in St. Joseph.
Niles captured the championship after finishing second to Lakeshore at the St. Joseph jamboree at The Oaks.
The Vikings shot 167, while the Lancers shot 163. Host St. Joseph was third with a 168 and Dowagiac fourth with a 172. Benton Harbor shot 241.
Niles' Ben Landgraf was the West Division medalist with an average of 37.2.
Dowagiac's David Maxey finished second and earned All-West Division honors with an average of 39.2. C.J. Wright of Lakeshore finished third with a stroke average of 40.0. Tom Valha of Lakeshore was fourth (42.0), Ryan clem of Lakeshore was fifth (42.4), Brett Newman of St. Joseph was fifth (42.4), Chris Haas of Niles was sixth (42.75), D.J. Wolnick of Niles was seventh (43.4) and Josh Yskes of St. Joseph was eighth (43.4).
Named All-West Division honorable mention were Ken Scott of Dowagiac, Justin Williams of Benton Harbor, Sean Castaey of Lakeshore, Jeff Jurgonski of Niles and Donovan Eagon of St. Joseph.
Schoolcraft Invitational
Dowagiac was 10th in the Championship Flight and 12th in the Eagle Flight at the Schoolcraft Invitational on Saturday at the Olde Mill Golf Course.
Plainwell was the Championship Flight winner with a team total of 316.
Allegan was second at 319 and Saugatuck third at 323. Finishing fourth and fifth respectively were Kalamazoo Hackett and Wayland.
Dowagiac shot 341.
Plainwell also won the Eagle Flight title with a team total of 344.
Kalamazoo Hackett was second with a 357 and Delton-Kellogg third with a 369. Allegan and Saugatuck tied for fourth, while Wayland was sixth.
Dowagiac shot 412.
Dowagiac's David Maxey was a member of the all-tournament squad after shooting 76.
Adam Schroer of Three Rivers was medalist with a 69. Also on the all-tournament team were Alex Lanning of Saugatuck, Ken Brenner of Wayland, Kelly Shanley of Allegan, Lee Kescolowski of Schoolcraft, Jeff Bronkema of Plainwell, Tom Olinger of Plainwell, Jeff Binjamin of Three Rivers, Cole Vandenberg of Wayland, Nick Olson of White Pigeon and Joey Reed of Allegan.
Dowagiac had Kevin Proshwitz with an 86, Adam Carlson with an 89, Ken Scott with a 90, Nick Krizinski with a 96, Ken Franz with a 99, Rich Hutchinson with a 108 and Micah Null with a 109.
