CASSOPOLIS - Brandywine seemed to be off to a good start early in the first quarter. They stopped Cassopolis's offense and made some good offensive plays of their own, but it didn't last for long. Kenny Brown intercepted a pass and ran the ball for a 77-yard touchdown only 4 minutes into the first quarter. E.J. Harris added a touchdown with 5.4 seconds in the first giving the Rangers a 13-0 lead.
The Bobcats started the second quarter with a 27-yard first down, but Cassopolis quickly stopped them from letting anything happen. E.J. Harris scored a 37-yard touchdown only 22 seconds into the quarter. Ashton Danzy ran the ball 35 yards on a punt return for the Rangers. Cassopolis ended the half with a 19-0 lead. E.J. Harris had 11 carries on 110 yards at the end of the half.
Brandywine came into the third quarter with a little more spark and scored their first touchdown 7:01 into the third putting them on the board 19-6. Cassopolis quickly retracted with a 15-yard touchdown from Ashton Danzy and another impressive 71-yard touchdown from E.J. Harris with 33 seconds left in the third giving Cass a 33-6 lead going into the fourth.
While Cassopolis had their team effort down, Brandywine struggled to keep theirs together. They left some big gaps in their defense and missed quite a few crucial passes. "We worked on filling our gaps one place, but as soon as we did that another opened up." Brandywine head coach Terry Borr said.
