Another week, another blowout.
The Dowagiac freshman and junior varsity football teams wasted little time dispatching visiting Kalamazoo Loy Norrix Thursday afternoon and evening at Chris Taylor-Alumni Field.
The freshman defeated the Knight, 38-0, while the junior varsity posted a 60-6 victory.
The teams are now 4-0 on the season.
Freshman football
Jamie Simpson added three more touchdowns to his season statistics and now has 12 in four games for the Chieftains.
He got plenty of help again Thursday night as Matt Klees, Terry Prowoznik and Reggie Fritz all scored touchdowns for the Chieftains.
Simpson also added three point-after-touchdown kicks and his second field goal in as many games.
Dowagiac's defense never allowed Loy Norrix to cross midfield Thursday afternoon.
Defensively for the Chieftains, Ryan Lebeda intercepted a pass, Dowagiac recovered a fumble and Bill Davis spoiled an onside kick attempt by recovering the football.
Dowagiac hits the road next Thursday afternoon as it travels to Benton Harbor for a Big 16 Conference West Division contest. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
