Edwardsburg moves into tie for first place

Host Edwardsburg moved into a tie for first place in the Lakeland Conference golf race by winning the jamboree it hosted on Thursday at Hampshire Country Club.
Edwardsburg shot 170 to knock off Coloma by six strokes.
The win allowed the Eddies to move into a tie with the Comets for first place with 15 points.
Buchanan took third at the jamboree with a score of 176. Coloma earned second place due to sixth-man scoring.
Cassopolis was fourth with a score of 178, while Brandywine was fifth with a 182, Berrien Springs sixth with a 186, River Valley seventh with a 186 and Bridgman eighth with a 187.
Berrien Springs defeated River Valley due to the sixth-man scoring tiebreaker.
Cassopolis is third in the overall standings with 10 points, while Buchanan and River Valley are tied for fourth with eight points. Berrien Springs is sixth with seven points and Brandywine seventh with five points.
Bridgman is eighth with four points.
Buchanan's Nathan Layher earned medalist honors with a 36.
Edwardsburg was led by Jess Johnson's 41. Khris Merrill shot 42 and Tanner Lewinger shot 43. Ryan Stoneburner shot 44 and James Hentz shot 49. Mike Fantetti finished with a 50.
The Rangers were led by Dan Stanage's 37. Will Loux finished with a 42 and Matt Gadacz a 49. Jesse Binns and Austin Francis shot 50 and 51 respectively.
Mike Vite shot 61.
Lakeland jamboree at Buchanan
Coloma reclaimed the Lakeland Conference lead on Tuesday as it captured the latest jamboree at Brookwood in Buchanan.
The Comets shot 181, while Edwardsburg finished fourth with a 193.
Buchanan took second with a 184 and Bridgman, which finished last at the Edwardsburg hosted event last Thursday, finished third with a 190.
Cassopolis took fifth with a 196. Berrien Springs and River Valley completed the order of finish with scores of 197 and 199 respectively.
Cassopolis' Stanage was the medalist on Tuesday as he fired a 43.
Edwardsburg was led by Stoneburner who shot 45. Johnson finished with a 46, while Fantetti and Lewinger both finished with a 51.
The Eddies also got a 52 from Merrill and a 53 from Hentz.
Besides Stanage's score, the Rangers got a 47 from Loux, a 52 from Binns, a 54 from Vite, a 57 from Francis and a 62 from Gadacz.
The league returns to action on Thursday as Berrien Springs hosts the next jamboree at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course near Eau Claire.
Edwardsburg hosted Dowagiac and Parchment on Wednesday in a non-conference match at Hampshire Country Club.
