Dowagiac Equestrian team begins season Saturday

The Dowagiac Equestrian team will begin two weekends of competition on Saturday at the Berrien County Fairgrounds in Berrien Springs.
Dowagiac, with six riders, will be a Class B team in 2004 according to coach Judy Stilwell.
The team consists of Sara Ausra, Marcell Chiddister, Carin Sobieski, Jason Krukowski, Whitney Podell and Kelsey Podell.
Ausra, Chiddister, Sobieski and Krukowski are all returning riders.
White Whitney Podell is new to the Dowagiac team, she has been a member of the Edwardsburg Equestrian team.
The first of two weekends of competition begins Saturday and continues on Sunday in Berrien Springs.
Saturday's show will be judged by Jamie Patterson and Nicole Sherick. Sunday's show will be judged by Bradley Write and Donna Caray.
The three-show competition will wrap up on Sept. 26 at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds.
All three shows begin at 8:30 a.m.
There are 17 classes in which to compete in.
