Buchanan head coach Joe Austin knows his offense can stack up with Coloma's. It's the Bucks' defense that needs to step up in Friday's game against the Comets, Austin said.
Defending Lakeland Conference champion Coloma has scored 95 points in three games this season. Austin said the Comets have a slue of weapons that the Bucks must be prepared to defend against.
Coloma's running game is what concerns Austin the most. The Comets have two big, strong fullbacks that they pound at the defensive line, he said.
Though Austin said Coloma is strong all-around, one weakness for the Comets may be defense.
The Comets have given up 85 points this season and have had to rely on their offense to bail out the defense. Buchanan, meanwhile, has the highest scoring offense in the conference.
The Bucks average more than 41 points a game this season and racked up 62 points last week, albeit against Brandywine.
In terms of keeping Coloma's score down, Austin said a good offense might be the best defense.
If Buchanan's offense can continue its scoring output and its defense can limit Coloma, Austin said Friday's game should be a good one.
