Buchanan tennis stays unbeaten

Buchanan's girls' tennis picked up a victory at home Tuesday, a 7-1 decision over Constantine.
The Bucks benefitted from two forfeits because Constantine did not have a full team. Buchanan received victories via forfeit at No. 4 singles and No. 4 doubles.
With the victory, Buchanan remains undefeated this season in dual matches with a record of 6-0.
At No. 1 singles, Buchanan's Ashley Shepherd beat Constantine's Maggie Russell 6-1, 6-3. Jacyln Mummaw continued her undefeated season in dual meets at No. 2 singles by beating Amanda Egmer 6-0, 6-1.
Buchanan's only loss came at No. 3 singles, but it was a close one. Constantine's Holly Hanchon beat the Bucks' Chelsea Ghatoaura 7-5, 6-4.
Olivia Bonardi was the No. 4 singles player that received the forfeit.
The Bucks then breezed through the doubles flights, winning all in straight sets and losing just four games in the three matches.
Buchanan's Lizzy Thornton and Megan Vylonis won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, beating Kayla Rex and Emily Dentler of Constantine.
At No. 2 doubles, Hannah Flood and Nicole Meyer of Buchanan beat Crystal Seman and Haley Ray in a shut out, 6-0, 6-0.
Brittanee Smeltzer and Terra Linville picked up the final victory for the Bucks with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Constantine's Jena Nielson and Jamie Middlestadt.
Leslie Niemier and Robyn Bahr was the No. 4 doubles team that won via forfeit.
Buchanan continues its season tonight when the Bucks take on Cass at home.
