Dowagiac's No. 3 and No. 4 singles took a pair of straight set victories over Buchanan Tuesday to finish a match that was delayed for almost two weeks because of rain.
The match was originally scheduled for Aug. 20, but was postponed because of inclement weather. When play began on Aug. 24, the two teams got in six of the eight flighs, with No. 3 and No. 4 singles left uncompleted.
Buchanan swept the doubles points on Aug. 24, and Andrea Mummaw won at No. 2 singles to give the Bucks a 5-1 lead in the unfinished match. Though Buchanan already had the match in hand, Dowagiac made a strong showing Tuesday.
At No. 3 singles, Ashley Urbanski beat Tracy Brelowski 6-4, 7-6 (7-0). At No. 4 singles, Dowagiac's Anne O'Keefe beat Chelsea Ghatnaura 6-3, 6-3.
