Vikings score nine goals, outshoot Berrien Springs in rout of the Shamrocks

Niles' boys soccer remained undefeated this season, reaching 3-0 with a 9-1 victory over Berrien Springs on Tuesday.
Niles outshot the Shamrocks 22-6 in the lopsided victory. Vikings' goalie Cory Coquillard had four saves.
Jerred Rockafellow got the scoring starting for Niles eight minutes into the match. He scored on an assist from Brian Coulston with 31:58 remaining in the first half to put Niles on the board first.
The Vikings scored three more times before halftime to take a 4-0 lead into the half. Coulstogn had a goal and another assist in the half. The other goals were scored by Colin Smith and C.J. Rumpf, assisted by Brett Borzsei.
Rumpf's goal came with eleven seconds remaining in the half.
Berrien Springs' only goal came more than three minutes into the second half off of a deflection. The score pulled the Shamrocks within 4-1.
Niles rolled from there, scoring five more goals to stay perfect this season.
Even though the Vikings won easily, Holtgren said there are still areas where he would like to see his team improve.
The second half goals were scored by Mauricio Terra, assisted by Michael Tanke, Rumpf unassisted, Blaise Nsengiyumva, assisted by Danny Rodts, and Gilles Nsengiyumva, assisted by Terra.
Tanke also scored on a penalty kick when a Berrien Springs player took down a Niles player inside the box.
The Vikings play again tonight at Sturgis. The junior varsity game is set to start at 5 p.m., with the varsity beginning at 6:45 p.m.
