Niles F.O.P. continues summer play at Barnaby’s

The Niles F.O.P. 11-year-olds began play last week in the Barnaby's Invitational tournament. The All-Stars lost to Chet Waggoner 6-4 in the first game. Niles regrouped and beat Matthys Little League 16-4 on Saturday and East End 10-6 on Sunday.
Niles was scheduled to play host East Side Little League last night, but the game was rained out. It is rescheduled for tonight.

Jalen Roscoe and Nathaniel Oates led FOP offensively with a double and single each. Rashad Harris had two singles, and Dustin Wright and Derek Marquis each added a single. Marquis started the game, while Kelvin Tweedy picked up the loss.

Niles won in the fifth inning by the 10-run rule. Tyler Parrish led F.O.P. with two doubles and a single. Jalen Roscoe and Rashad Harris each had a double and a single. Derek Marquis and Matt Gaul each had a double. Montrell Merritt and Nathaniel Oates each had two singles.
Evan Zimmerman and Justin Hughes contributed singles. Justin Hughes started the game and picked up the victory.

Niles F.O.P. was led offensively by Evan Zimmerman with a triple and a single. Jalen Roscoe and Rashad Harris with three singles. Montrell Merritt with a double and a single, and Tyler Parrish, Derek Marquis and Matt Gaul each with a single.
Montrell Merritt was the starting and winning pitcher.
