Local teams go 9-13 in first weekend at Eaton Park

North Lincoln scored 16 runs in the second inning off 17 hits. Dakota Green, Doug Freeman and Alec Brown all had singles for Niles.

Buchanan….8
Buchanan gave up six runs in the bottom of the fourth after securing a 7-6 lead. Randy Payne had three hits and three RBIs for Buchanan. Josh Anglemeyer also had three hits, including a double, and three RBIs.
Paw Paw….10
Howard Twp No. 2…5
Howard Township held a 5-4 lead in the fourth, when Paw Paw tied the game at five. Paw Paw then scored five runs in the top of the six to win the game. Brendon Meek had three hits to lead Howard Township. Cody Thornton and Jordan Ham each added two hits and an RBI.
Howard Twp. No. 1….13
North Lincoln No. 2….0
Tate Brawley had three hits and three RBIs to lead Howard Township. Brad Miller also had three RBIs off one hit. Tate Rudlaff had two RBIs and two hits in the victory.

Buchanan….1
Buchanan was held scoreless until their last at-bat in the loss. Kevin Dey led Buchanan with three singles and the sole RBI.

Brandywine….7
Dalton Raymond had four RBIs for Brandywine in the losing effort. Alex Hardy had three hits for three RBIs. Hartford was led by Luke Travor's six RBIs.

Despite 11 hits, Howard Township could only muster two runs in the loss. Matthew Mehaughlin, Zack Webber and Dallas Munger each had two hits for Howard Township.

Down 2-0 in heading into the fourth, Niles scored four runs in the inning to go ahead for good. Jessie Wilson had two hits and two RBIs for Niles. Brandon Oliner and Tyler Bybee also had two hits a piece.

Brandywine….9
Watervliet…..6
Down 5-3, Brandywine rallied to score six runs in the bottom of the fifth to win the match. Patrick VanKirk led Brandywine with two hits and three RBI.
Buchanan….19
New Buffalo….6
Buchanan used a seven-run third inning and a nine-run fourth to roll to victory. T.J. Miller hit five RBIs and Cole Castle had four in the victory. Dakota Lawrence added four hits.
Division C
Dowagiac….15
Howard Twp…2
Dowagiac scored nine runs in the second inning and never looked back in an easy victory. Alec Landon had two doubles and an RBI for Howard Township. Kevin Schrader also had two hits and the other RBI. Dowagiac was led by Cal Cox and Dontel Highsmith, who each had two doubles and two RBIs.
St. Joseph….12
Buchanan….2
Buchanan stayed close, down 3-2, until St. Joseph put up six runs in the fourth and three in the fifth. St. Joseph out-hit Buchanan 18-5. John Bennett hit a triple for Buchanan.

With the score tied at 11, Niles scored three runs in the top of the seventh to grab the winning margin. Each team had 20 hits. Mitchell Dehn led Niles with five RBIs. Ethan Zimmerman added four RBIs, and Geordan Griffin had four hits.

Tyler House led Howard Township with three hits. Ricky Briand and Jeff Miller hd two hits a piece. Briand also struck out six batters in three innings of relief.

Brandywine No. 1….5
New Prarie scored eight of their 10 runs in the first two innings, and Brandywine couldn't recover. Zac Gerber led Brandywine with three hits. Joe Godfrey had two hits in the loss.
Bridgman….7
Brandywine No. 2….4
Brandywine took a one-run lead into the sixth, when Bridgman scored four runs to win the game.
Derek Nichols had a home run and a single to lead Brandywine. Zack Edquist added two singles in the loss.
Buchanan….3
Watervliet….1
Buchanan pitchers held Watervliet scoreless until their final at-bat. Tyler Powers had three hits for Buchanan, and Adam Byrdak hit a home run.

Jake Wahlstrom had three hits, including a home run, and two RBI to lead Buchanan to victory. Ian Klein also had three hits and one RBI.
Bryan Kuntz added two hits to help Buchanan grab the victory.

The Niles F.O.P. 11-year-olds defeated South Haven 11-6 on Sunday. Starting pitcher for Niles F.O.P. was Dustin Wright, and Montrell Merrit worked three innings in relief.
Niles was led by Merritt with a home run and a double. Evan Zimmerman had a double and two singles. Justin Hughes added two singles and Ben Shaffer one single.

Lawrence pitchers combined to no-hit Buchanan. Buchanan had only two base-runners in the game.
