Fisher named sports editor

NILES -- Adam Fisher has joined the staff of the Niles Daily Star as its sports editor.
Fisher, an Indianapolis native, graduated in May 2004 from Ball State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and graduated cum laude from its Honors College.
During college, Fisher was an active member of his college newspaper's sports team. He started as the Ball State Daily News' chief reporter, later became assistant sports editor and during his senior year, was sports editor. As sports editor of his college paper, Fisher won the Indiana Collegiate Press Association's award for best sports news story. In addition to his work at the Ball State newspaper, Fisher was president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and vice president of Ball State's Interfraternity Council, as well as an event coordinator for the Ball State Student-Alumni Relations Team.
Weiss resigned last month to take a job as a page designer at the South Bend (Ind.) Tribune.
