Howard wins Hartford tourney

The Howard Township 10-year-old All-Stars went undefeated in the Hartford Tournament to win it for the third year in a row.
The 10-year-olds were the second Howard Township team to win its division of the Hartford Tournament. The 8-year-olds also won their division.
On July 10, the All-Stars beat North Lincoln 14-9. Zack Webber went 3-for-4. Matthew McLaughlin, Taylor Campbell, Cody Beers, Dallas Munger, Alex Grishaber and Casey Cochran each had two hits. Zack Fillwock and John Schrader each added one hit.
The all-stars beat Lakeshore 10-7 on July 11 for the championship of the winner's bracket. Webber went 3-for-3 at the plate, and McLaughlin went 3-for-4.
Campbell, Fillwock, Munger and Cochran had two hits against Lakeshore. Jared Langmeyer and Logan Harpenau each had a hit.
In the July 12 championship game, Howard beat North Lincoln 16-4 in five innings. The team's defense held North Lincoln to 11 hits.
Howard connected for 23 hits in the victory. Beers and Fillwock went 4-for-4. Mclaughlin, Webber and Munger went 3-for-4. Cochran had two hits. Campbell, Grishaber, Fisher and Zack Brawley each added a hit apiece.
Howard begins play this week in the Eaton Park tournament.
