Niles’ Brea Eden wins at Jamieson tournament

EAU CLAIRE -- Indian Lake Hills Golf course was the host of the Ned Jamieson Memorial Tri-County Junior Championship on Wednesday, June 30.
C.J. Wright of Stevensville shot a 77 to win the Boys 16-17 year old division. C.J. was awarded a trophy and will have his name engraved on a permanent plaque that hangs in the Indian Lake Hills G.C. clubhouse. Runner up in the division was Nathan Layher of Niles who shot a 78.
They were followed by Tom Valha with a 79 and Justin La-Place with an 80.
Vince Carango of Lawton shot an 80 to win the Boys 14-15 year old division.
He was followed by Ryan Clem of Stevensville with an 83, and Nick Krizinski of Dowagiac and Nick Horn of Niles each with 88s.
In the Boys 12-13 year old division, Ryan Marks of South Haven shot a 79 to win. Runner up was Todd Chapman with an 87. Followed by Zach Fettes of St. Joseph with an 88 and Alex Prevolos with a 113.
Brea Eden of Niles won the Girls 12-17 year old division.
Over 40 kids enjoyed a beautiful, sunny, warm morning to play 18 holes of golf. First place winners and runners up received trophies.
Third and fourth place participants took home certificates.
Ned Jamieson, a long time golf professional and instructor, made Indian Lake Hills Golf Course his home base, after a career that began in the early 1920's in Carnoustie, Scotland,
Ned made many friends by sharing his wit, talent and love of the game of golf.
It is fitting that this Memorial tournament honor our friend and pass on his love of the game to the next generation.
