F.O.P. 12-year-olds shut out opponents

The F.O.P. 12-year-old All-Stars won a pair of shutouts over the weekend, beating Mendon 10-0 Saturday and defeating South Haven 9-0 Sunday.
Dashaun Curtis pitched a complete game Saturday, striking out 16 batters. He also contributed offensively, adding a triple.
Ramone Brown led the team in hitting with two singles and scored three runs against Mendon. Cameron Sly, Gage Ratkay and Dustan Craig added doubles. Kelvin Tweedy, Mike Briggs, Kevin Gross and Aaron Davis each had a single.
Against South Haven, Gross pitched 5 2/3 innings with 10 strikeouts. Once again Brown led the offense with three runs and one hit. Sly and Craig had two hits apiece while Davis, Curtis, Ratkay and Gross added a hit each.
The 12-year-olds face Three Rivers on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Mattawan.
The F.O.P. 9-10 year-old All-Stars opened District 15 Tournament play with a win over South Haven on Thursday and then beat Centreville 9-3 on Saturday at Dowagiac.
The 9-10 year-olds are scheduled to face Decatur tonight at 6 p.m. in Cassopolis.
The F.O.P. 11-year-old All-Stars open District 15 Tournament play tonight with a 6 p.m. matchup against South Haven in Mattawan.
