Coast to Coast Athletics is recruiting Michigan area softball players, ages 16-19, to represent the USA in international competition in Hawaii and Australia.
Outstanding amateurs, selected from as many as 25 states nationwide, will compete against international all-star teams during the 2004-05 winter and summer school breaks.
Open tryouts are scheduled for Wednesday, July 7, at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo at 4 p.m., and on Thursday, July 8, at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant at 4 p.m.
Each Coast to Coast tour lasts 7-14 days and is filled with games, intensive training and cultural excursions. Coast to Coast teams are managed by a staff of college coaches who provide participating players with a unique perspective on what it's like to play at the collegiate level.
