NILES -- The Niles community is encouraged to come downtown on Thursday for a surprise announcement regarding the future of downtown Niles.
The event will take place at the 100 block of Main Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If it happens to rain, the gathering will take place in the lobby of the DDA/Main Street office, located at 210 E. Main St.
Michigan Economic Development Corporation officials will be on hand to make the announcement regarding a downtown revitalization development for the City of Niles.
She said this celebration will have free food and offer an opportunity for community members to meet many of the downtown merchants.
