NILES -- Home Depot has withdrawn its application with Niles Township to build a store here.
Kevin Tonkin, Niles Township trustee, said Monday night at the township's meeting that Home Depot had decided not to build in Niles.
He said, apparently, "the Lowe's store is farther along than they (Home Depot) thought it was."
Home Depot, a national home-improvement retailer, had made prelimary application with Niles Township to demolish and construct a new store at the site of the former Kmart on South 11th Street.
