Optimist junior district qualifier Tuesday

The Optimist Junior World of Golf District Qualifying Tournament will be held Tuesday at Orchard Hills Country Club.
The tournament, which is for boys and girls ages 10-18, will begin with registration at 7:45 a.m. and costs $15 to register. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m.
The winners from each age group (10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18) in this tournament will be sent to the State Tournament which will be held at El Dorado Golf Course in Mason on Wednesday, June 23 for boys and Thursday, June 24 for girls.
Entry fees to the District Tournament will be paid by the Berrien Springs, Niles and Three Oaks Optimist Clubs. The winners of the District Tournament will be sent to the National Tournament at the PGA National Resort in West Palm Beach, Fla. Expenses will be paid by the Michigan District Optimists.

Basketball camp at Brandywine
The Brandywine High School girls basketball program will host the Lady Cats Basketball Camp Monday through Thursday, June 14-18, at the Brandywine High School gymnasium.
The camp is for students in grades 3-12 and costs $35 per athlete, or two for $60.
Athletes in grades 3-8 will attend the camp from 9-11 a.m. Athletes in grades 9-12 will attend the camp from 1-3 p.m.
Spring Fling 5K set for June 12
The Spring Fling 2004 is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, at the Niles Riverfront Park Amphitheater from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
This event, which will benefit an academic scholarship fund for Brandywine and Niles school systems, will include a 5K run and walk, Tai Chi, cake walk, karaoke, food, arts and crafts and more.
Registration for the races is at 9 a.m. with the races beginning at 10 a.m.

Linnen-Jeffries golf June 18
The 30th Annual Linnen-Jeffries Junior Golf Tournament is schedule for Friday, June 18, at Hampshire Country Club in Dowagiac.
The tournament is for boys and girls up to 18 years old and costs $10 per participant.
First and second place trophies will be awarded in each age group, as well as a travelling trophy to the tournament medalist.

Softball tourneys in Coloma
Beginning this Sunday and continuing every Sunday through Aug. 21, Coloma Lanes in Coloma will host a softball tournament for teams in Division D and below.
The Guaranteed Four tournaments will be played round-robin style with every team guaranteed at least four games.
The tournament entry fee is $125 with prizes awarded to the top two teams each week.
The first-place team will receive a sponsor trophy and T-shirts. The second-place team will receive a sponsor trophy.
