The defending state champions aren't planning on being on the defensive this year at the Division 4 State Tennis Finals which open Friday at Holland.
The Bucks shared the title last year with Ann Arbor Greenhills, this year's outright favorite to win the title.
Buchanan enters the finals ranked No. 3 in the state, behind Greenhills and Jackson Lumen Christi.
Buchanan's highest-seeded player is Jose Gonzalez, a foreign exchange student from Venezuela, who is seeded second at No. 1 singles.
Seeded third at No. 3 singles is Buchanan freshman True Sulier. Three doubles teams are seeded fourth in their respective flights -- Chad Van Lue and Doug Summers at No. 1 doubles, Mike Otwell and Korey Camp at No. 3 doubles and Dustin Sieff and Andrew Gordon at No. 4 doubles.
Buchanan senior Jeff Eifler is seeded fifth at No. 2 singles.
The Bucks finished fourth at the 2002 Finals and third at the 2001 Finals.
