Fresh off its 12th straight Lakeland Conference Tournament victory, the Buchanan varsity tennis team traveled north and finished first in the Traverse City West Invitational Saturday.
The Bucks scored 11 points to outlast the host Titans, who took second with 10 points. North Muskegon took third with three points.
Buchanan won three singles flights and two doubles flights. Jose Gonzalez took first at No. 1 singles, Jeff Eifler won No. 2 singles and True Sulier won No. 3 singles. The Buchanan team of Chad Van Lue and Doug Summers finished first at No. 1 doubles while Alex Gordon and Alex Flood won No. 2 doubles.
The Bucks, which are ranked No. 3 in Division 4, host South Haven in non-conference play Wednesday at 4 p.m.
